Upgrading Electrical Engineering department Koforidua Polytechnic

Website project

In Ghana, at Koforidua Polytechnic, I focused on strengthening the integration of practical skills within university-level electrical and electronic engineering education. I was responsible for the design and installation of a fully equipped technical workshop and laboratory, creating an environment that supports hands-on, competency-based learning.

To ensure effective use of these facilities, I trained lecturers and laboratory technicians in modern, practice-oriented teaching methods, emphasizing the application of Competency-Based Learning (CBL) within the redesigned curriculum. This enabled a stronger balance between theoretical instruction and practical skill development, better preparing students for industry demands.

In addition, I established linkages with industry and the private sector to further enhance practical training opportunities. These collaborations supported the alignment of educational programs with real-world requirements and strengthened the connection between the institute and the labour market.
