GIZ International Services
In this project in the United Arab Emirates, I served as Head of Department / Deputy Director at the Technology and Career Centre in Al Ain, holding overall responsibility for the institute’s operational and academic performance. I led and managed a large, multidisciplinary team of 36 instructors and 10 support staff across 18 technical trades, ensuring effective staff deployment, performance management, and alignment with institutional objectives while delivering programs to approximately 1,000 students.
A key focus of my role was operational leadership and planning, including the design, implementation, and continuous oversight of complex weekly timetables. I ensured efficient resource allocation, instructor coverage, and continuity of teaching despite absences or changing requirements, while also managing special activities such as staff trainings and institutional events. In parallel, I directed the development and standardization of project guidelines and workshop programs for grades 5 to 11, maintaining quality control and ensuring consistency across all trades and levels.
In addition to internal management, I was responsible for high-level coordination and stakeholder engagement within the GIZ InS project framework. I worked closely with teams in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi and managed collaboration with external partners, particularly Emirates National School, to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful program delivery, while continuously driving improvements in processes, outcomes, and organizational performance.
